Retail · A2Z Floors
An online flooring shop that works out how much to order, so shoppers buy instead of ringing to ask.
Flooring shoppers do not know how much to order, so a UK online retailer needed a shop that works out the quantity and price for them and takes payment without an account.

What we built
A calculator, a catalogue, samples, checkout and a back office a small team can run.
A room-size calculator supporting three pricing models, per item, per length off a roll and per box, converting width and length to square metres and rounding up to whole boxes.
A filterable catalogue across carpets, laminate, vinyl, underlay, wall panels and accessories, with a staff-controlled tag taxonomy.
Free sample ordering from any product page through the same basket and checkout at zero cost.
A basket and hosted card checkout with prices re-derived on the server, so a shopper cannot tamper with them in the browser.
Voucher codes created in the admin and pushed to the payment provider as coupons on the fly.
Self-hosted product reviews that arrive pending, email staff and publish only once approved.
pricing
Three pricing models, once
Implemented one time and reused identically in the calculator, the basket and the checkout.
security
The server sets the price
Any price the browser sends is ignored at add-to-cart.
proof
Reviews without the platform fee
Moderated, self-hosted, with per-attribute ratings for softness, wear, density and warmth.
How it plugs in
Hosted checkout, nothing to certify.
Card details never touch the shop. Vouchers are mirrored into the payment provider as coupons, so discounts reconcile without a second system.

What changed
The calculator removes the biggest barrier to buying flooring online and cuts pre-sales enquiries. A small team can run a large catalogue without a developer.
